Michael Waltrip Racing and JTG Daugherty Racing led the news this week after the teams were heavily penalized following Talladega. After finding windshields for the #00, #56 and #47 did not meet specifications NASCAR suspended all three crew chiefs through the end of the season and fined them $50,000 each, put MWR Director of Competition Bobby Kennedy on probation through the end of the year and took 25 owner and driver points from each team. In other news, UPS announced this week they would return to Roush Fenway Racing as a full associate sponsor with Carl Edwards as well as sponsor for one race. What this means for RFR’s David Ragan is unclear. This is the NASCAR week that was, October 23 to 29, 2011.
