The NASCAR Week That Was: Oct. 9-15

Plans for 2012 led the news this week with crew chief rumors and a scaled back Richard Childress Racing. The Charlotte Observer reported last week that Penske Racing crew chief Steve Addington was leaving the team at the end of the year. Addington denied the rumor. Joe Gibbs Racing said this week that the team had conversations with crew chief Greg Zipadelli and that a change in his role had not come up. In other news, team owner Richard Childress said this weekend that the team would likely have three cars next season. This is the NASCAR week that was, October 9 to 15, 2011.
