The NASCAR Week That Was: Oct. 17-23

Richard Petty Motorsports led the news this week after Kasey Kahne was released from the team and subsequent news and rumors emerged regarding the financial health of the team. Team executives said this weekend many of the rumors were unsubstantiated. In other news, after weeks of speculation about his future, it was announced Scott Speed’s option was not picked up for 2011. Red Bull Racing GM Jay Frye said the team would only field two cars next season. This is the NASCAR week that was, October 17 to 23, 2010.
