As NASCAR inches ever closer to the Chase for the Sprint Cup it was Silly Season and schedule news that led the week. AJ Allmendinger and Richard Petty Motorsports announced this week an extension on his deal to drive the famed #43. Allmendinger has been with RPM since 2008. In other Silly Season news, speculation continues about the 2011 plans of Budweiser and Paul Menard. Sources are currently placing both at Richard Childress Racing next season. And finally Atlanta Motor Speedway announced this week they would only have one race for the 2011 season. It is expected Kentucky or Las Vegas will pick up their second date. This is the NASCAR week that was, August 1 to 17, 2010.
