The NASCAR Week That Was: July 25-31

A busy news week led the sport into Pocono (and Iowa) this week. On Tuesday JTG Daugherty Racing announced the team would part ways with Marcos Ambrose at the end of the season. Ambrose is rumored to be heading to the #9 at RPM. The team announced Wednesday NASCAR champion Bobby Labonte would take over the #47 in 2011. Off the track it was Jack Roush who made headlines this week after he was involved in a plane crash in Wisconsin. Roush and a friend sustained minor injuries. Roush remains at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. And finally NASCAR team owners met this week at Hendrick Motorsports to discuss cost saving measures. The owners will meet with NASCAR officials at a later date to present their discussions. This is the NASCAR week that was, July 25 to 31, 2010.
