The NASCAR Week That Was: June 13-19

Two guys named C(K)asey, and debris cautions led the news this week as NASCAR heads to the left coast. Denny Hamlin stirred the late race debris caution debate after last weekend’s race, calling NASCAR ‘show business.’ NASCAR maintained there was debris on the track. In other news, Red Bull Racing announced this week Casey Mears would not be returning to the #83 car after his run at Michigan. Team representatives said he would be replaced by Reed Sorenson. And finally speculation continues to run rampant about the 2011 plans for Kasey Kahne. A Sports Illustrated report said a deal to send Kahne to Phoenix Racing was just weeks away from completion, but officials from both organizations said conversations have not taken place. This is the NASCAR week that was June 13 to 19, 2010.

MAN O MAN WHAT A RACE!!!

Ambrose makes an ignorant mistake to hand Mr Johnson ANOTHER winner winner chicken dinner.

I know people dont like JJ, and I too am tired of his same old same old … that SOB JJ………but you gotta hand it to JJ, he is a GREAT NASCAR racer. He consistantly puts himself in positon to take advantage of mistakes others make to earn the win. WOW!!!!.

I am sure that this week people will blah blah blah at NASCAR for that decision to restart Ambrose at #7 ( heck, I am usually in the camp against NASCAR ) but it is what it is ….

Why the heck did Amborse try to over think it, and then he parks it on the track ?? …..

Nascar made a good call and a correct call. Ambrose blew it, and it cost him winner’s circle. It is sad but fair …. and btw- I had Ambrose in my fantasy pool this week, at least he grabbed 6th place, good job.

BIG PROPS TO JJ, it takes a lot to do well in NASCAR, and JJ seems to do it all.

Honorable mention to Kevin Harvick who is quietly NUMERO UNO in points, good job Kevein.

I do not even much like the drivers I am praising …. Where the heck is Mark Martin??? ( oh, he is 12th in points …good job Mark )
