The problem was many of these cars had already been set up and built by the time Lance McGrew took over. They were still Hendrick cars though and had every advantage a Hendrick car, they just perhaps didn't have the best setups under them. Then it was reported that that did not actually happen. Instead a big show was made of some of he ‘brains’ of HMS working in Jr.’s pit…but still on the old DEI spec 2007 chassis. RH had no intention of letting Jr. run competitively. This past weekend in Phoenix, Jr. was still running one of the old chassis cars. You can bet your life and everything you own that Jimmie, Jeff, nor Mark has ever had to drive one of the DEI spec 2007 cars. If they had to drive the cars Jr. has they would not be in the Chase either. Last summer, 2008, Jr. was 2nd in the points...in a COT. RH needs to let Jr. go. It isn't like he's never let anyone go before! It was pretty interesting to see how quickly and methodically they seemed to be moving parts, pieces, & cars from one hauler to the other. I saw a good article on SceneDaily.com last week about some teams & the hauler switch. RE: 8…
Last November, I stopped in Grapevine on my way away from the track & back to the hotel. The Red Bull haulers were at the mall there making their switch. We sat & watched from the restaurant.
