How about driver/team/owner profiles in the off season. Sorry if someone else mentioned this above, I didn't see it.

Ric: "A day or two before the race a little bit on what to watch for and why: Tires will be an issue, Fuel mileage race, Weather forecast looks like most will be fighting tight cars, Cars will be loose early then tighten as the race goes on, Cold Temps will be an issue, etc."

I like this idea. Maybe who's hot, who's not, track perspectives, etc. You guys sometimes do this already.

I just type in the website to get here.

I like the opinion, rumors, & Ask the Insiders best. Lots of repeats on Ask the Insiders but usually one really good & interesting question a week. I guess you have to deal with that as you get new readers. I check the site multiple times a day, especially if there's a hot topic. I'm probably least interested in "the week that was" but will occasionally check an article that is linked.

The site is easy to navigate.

I can't remember where I found this site. Probably from a link on jayski. I check him daily too.

I think what I like most about the blog is the comments to your posts. The comments from the readers seem to be exceptionally more thoughtful & intelligent than on other sites.

How about starting a fan page on facebook?

I would like to see an in depth analysis on lug nuts this off season. I hear they can pack a wallop being shot from a spinning tire.

Good to see TP get that first win where he did. I missed going to the truck race but caught the last 30 laps on TV. The company I was with poo poos a multiple race weekend so we only attended the Cup race on Sunday.

You got lots of great comments so no need to add anything more.

Thought I'd give you a little bit of The Ross Insider re: Timothy Peters and Windowlicker.

Licker was in town this weekend. For some stupid reason (probably because there was a freakin' monsoon in the morning) we thought the truck race was gonna get postponed until Monday. So we went to the Whitewater Center for lunch and a hike (highly recommended when in Charlotte btw). Then we went for a few beers/college football. Then Licker's dad called him to talk about Peters' impending win. We only saw the last 10 or so laps of the race.

Licker was oddly subdued. But he did run suddenly to the bathroom after the post-race interview so who knows....

We went up to Martinsville on Sunday where he was pretty jacked to see Peters' burn out marks still there on the track.

There you have it....

How about a resident handicapper that gives insights and opinions on races? Many of us wager weekly on NASCAR in Las Vegas and via gambling websites.

I'm sure that you'd like to keep a "firewall" between your handicapper, TC and Journo so that there could be no suggestion of impropriety.

Ask the Insider my favorite!! Wish you would explain / give more detail on more of the answers. Maybe on a slow week, bring up an oldie but goodie to help fill in, or answer a question that you get asked a lot when people find out what you do. OR if you feel you have too many questions that week have a second section later in the week, OR move a couple to more detailed article a couple of days later.

I check out the website about once a day, linked at work and home. Found it by chance when I was looking for a answer to a question. No twitter. The blog format / layout is fine, have seen many worse. Would like to see a link to the comments at the end, as someone else posted earlier.

Would like to see more comments from you guys in the comments section. At times questions are brought up (directed to one of you) but no response, even days later.

Some news thing that I think might be nice and help attract people:
A little discussion on some things slanted toward the newbie. There are many good sites out there, but they are so far over the head of most newbies it just turns them off. Hopefully you will be able to bring in the newbie and keep them.

I like the inside information the best and think you give us just enough not to give yourselves away but I really do like everthing. I check it every day and always read the comments to see what others have to say even if I don't post one of my own. The Wednesday post can sometimes be a little light at times but I like the option of having somewhere to go when I have a question.
I also follow on Twitter and think it is very big with Nascar fans.
It was the Daly Planet that first clued me to TNIs existance and I was thrilled when I realized it was for real. Appearance and navigation work for me more bells and whistles are not always better just ask Nascar.com and Speedtv.com talk about nightmares.
Just keep it coming I'll be reading

Ya'lldoing a great job! I have been a racing fan since about 1959. 50 years, dang I am getting old. I get your column by email and also have your RSS feed on my homepage. The Wednesday Q & A is most interesting in not only your answers, but the question teach a lot about the fans and their concerns. Keep up the good work. Don't try to fix too much as I don't think anything is broken.

What types of posts do you like the most? Do you like the experience posts, the commentary, the news, the rumors? I like the insider/experience posts..not so much rumors.

What types of posts do you like the least? biased opinions

Would you like to see us do more of anything? interview with crew members..insights to work/family balance, if there is such a thing.

Would you like to see us do less of anything? Nope, enjoy this site.

How do you follow the blog? Do you receive e-mail updates or just type in the web address? I follow via Twitter and also receive the email updates.

Do you follow us on Twitter? If so, is there anything else you would like to see us do there? Yes, I think I responded to a post you made and we struck up a conversation.

Do you like the way the blog looks? Do you find it easy to navigate? Yes, looks fine, very easy to navigate although there are times when I see something "new" and it turns out to be an old posting.

Do you like Ask the Insiders Wednesday? Is it something you would like to see continue? Yes, Continue what you're doing..

The off-season is just one short month away. Is there anything you would like to see us doing when there isn’t any racing going on? insider information...silly season insider stuff.

Where did you first hear about us? Twitter

Keep up the good work, guys! I enjoy the topics and the banter. While were times I totally disagreed with what you said (Mayfield, Long)but I know where you're coming from.

What types of posts do you like the least?

I like the experience posts the most, followed by the rumors secondly. I guess I probably like the commentary least but I really like all or most of your posts....

How do you follow the blog? Do you receive e-mail updates or just type in the web address?

Twitter mostly but sometimes I just go right to your site

Do you follow us on Twitter? If so, is there anything else you would like to see us do there?

Yes I follow on twitter. Is there a way you can tweet news from the track (that wouldn't give away your secret identity) that would be cool

Do you like the way the blog looks? Do you find it easy to navigate?

Yes

Do you like Ask the Insiders Wednesday? Is it something you would like to see continue?
YES I love Ask The Insiders Wed. It's prob my favorite of all...

Where did you first hear about us? Egads I don't even remember...

I most like the experience posts & commentary. While we can get commentary elsewhere, very few sites contain any sort of experience garnered by being on a pit crew. Even a lot of commentary & opinion articles found elsewhere are made from people who aren't actually at the track/shop or don't have the access that you both have while at the track.

I can't really think of any posts I dislike. Sometimes the weekend post with the links seem like filler posts but you are both working at the track and that is totally understandable. I have seen an article here and there that I wouldn't have seen otherwise so even those are nice.

I love the Ask the Insiders Wednesday feature. Most fans don't have the opportunity to interact with crew members or journalists so to have that direct line with you two to ask the questions that are on our minds is very nice.

I do follow TNI on Twitter. I enjoy the interaction on there.
Most of the time, I read the new posts via Google Reader. TNI is always one of the first feeds I look at on there for new posts.

After the season is over, I'm very curious to hear each of your takes on the 2009 season and also using that to look forward into 2010. What was the biggest shock of 2009? If you were kings for a day, what should NASCAR/team/driver have done differently in ? Etc, etc, etc.

Haha...It's almost like I've always known about you. I'm thinking I probably first heard about you on Twitter. If I recall, the site was still very new when I did hear about it.

What it boils down to for me is that fan access. While we have a site like Twitter now that more teams & commentators are joining daily, TNI seems like the first site that was developed with fan access in mind. You are anonymous so I think that even gives the fan a sense of security that you aren't just BS'ing because of sponsor or team loyality or friendships. Your experience and knowledge is very obvious in your writings. Thanks for the site and Keep up the good work!
