Is there a new wave of F1 drivers looking to enter NASCAR? It appears at least some are interested as news this week confirmed that Nelson Piquet Jr., Jarno Trulli and Mika Salo are all testing with existing organizations before the end of the season. In business news, Motorsports Authentics may be on the verge of bankruptcy as NASCAR works to unify the licensing of all the teams under the NASCAR Properties banner. According to Reuters, the company (MA), owned jointly by ISC and SMI, has received default notices from certain licensors and is looking to renegotiate all of its major licensing deals. And finally, uniform start times are finally coming to NASCAR next season. The change will move day time starts of East Coast and Central races to 1 p.m. ET and West Coast races to 3 p.m. ET. Nighttime races will move to 7:30 p.m. ET, with the Coca Cola 600 keeping its 5:45 start time. This is the NASCAR week that was October 4 to 10, 2009.
