So...what their saying is to race but only race those outside the top-12. What a joke.

Telling Brad not to race hard is lame. Telling him not to race wild and dangerously is fine. But he wasn't doing that. He did nothing that put any driver in danger (unless THEY couldn't handle his driving hard, in which case THEY have an issue.)

I still think the chasers should be in their own points system during the final 10 races. Where if you finish 43rd because of a crash, you get points for being in 12th among chasers.

Re: #2. It doesn't "look bad". It Is BAD. NASCAR needs to learn that their rules are either there or not, and how will they be enforced. I realize that each situation is different, but the Carl Long deal was an example of non-preferential treatment. You have to wonder why Carl wasn't "warned". And the size of his fine was clearly meant to make it very difficult for him. Jimmie Johnson could have paid that fine out of chump change, and laughed all the way to the next race. I believe NASCAR needs to work very hard on having a fair reputation as a governing organization.

ref #5 @ NASCAR vs BK - telling BK not to race chasers to aggressively is lame, at beast. If BK was beating on "anyone" w/o regard for professionalism, I don't have a problem w/ officials telling him to back-off. But to segregate chasers from non chasers is wrong. This is part of why numbers are dwindling.

If anyone saw the MLB american league central div 1 game playoff last night Detroit vs Minnesota, you saw how a sporting event "can be" magical. I'm neither a Tiger fan or a Twins fan, but couldn't turn off the tube (i guess tv's don't have tubes anymore). I witnessed a 12 inning no holds bar, loser goes home , old west shootout last night. I doubt the baseball commissioner called down to either dugout to say, "hey don't play the opposition so hard, as they have a better shot at beating the Yankees in the playoffs". Right? I actually preferred the Tigers win, but would trade that for the game I witnessed any day.

IMHO that is one of the issues w/ NASCAR and a chunk of their fans (I am one btw). Both get so wrapped up in only "their" driver (who cares if the racing is good, I have my JR t-shirt), or stageing the "show" (let the chasers be) that they settle and don't demand the actual shootout...regardless of who is left to fight.
