Richard Petty Motorsports led the news this week as the team switched the #44 and #43 crews in an attempt to shake up performance. The plan had been in the works for some time. Dale Earnhardt Jr. also made headlines late this week after he criticized the Car of Today and suggested NASCAR needed to do more to improve its performance. This is the NASCAR week that was August 9 to 15, 2009.

am i the only person tired of earnhardt talking about changing the COT and him talking endlessly about what’s wrong with nascar? seriously, i think the thing wrong with the car is the DRIVER. i like dale but he and kyle busch should take lessons in learning to whine less. it really comes off bad when you’re having your worst season on record and you can do nothing but complain about the car.
Fact of the matter is; Jr. is a good racecar driver, but he has not figured out how to drive the COT to the level he wants, and Rick Hendrick knows it. He seems to have many irons in the fire and, with no testing, his learning curve has become quite lengthy.
i agree wholeheartedly. i wish he would just quit opening his mouth and complaining about the car.
