One week after the biggest speeding ticket of Juan Pablo Montoya’s life, the Cup cars head to the Pennsylvania Mountains. Sponsor news was the big topic of discussion this week as Crown Royal and Roush Fenway Racing announced their shift to Matt Kenseth; news came that Lowe’s would be ending its 11 year relationship with the Charlotte Motor Speedway; and rumors emerged that Jack Daniels would not be returning to #07 at Richard Childress Racing. In Jeremy Mayfield news this week, his step-mother Lisa filed a defamation suit against the driver for comments he made after she said in a NASCAR affadavit that she had seen him using methamphetamine. NASCAR also filed court documents alleging that Mayfield lied in earlier court documents about the timeline of the body’s second drug test. This is the NASCAR week that was July 26 to August 1, 2009.
