NASCAR returns to the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway this week, one year after the now infamous tire debacle. On the Mayfield front, this week his attorneys released a negative drug test they claim was taken soon after his second alleged failed test by NASCAR. Also the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals reinstated Mayfield’s suspension until the appeal of the injunction could be heard by the court later this year. And finally, in the biggest sponsor news of the year, longtime Roush and Matt Kenseth sponsor DeWalt announced they would not be returning to the #17 next season. This is the NASCAR week that was July 19 to 25, 2009.

The Nascar Insiders site had the documents filed with the court when Jeremy failed Nascar’s 2nd drug test.
Do you have Jeremy’s response to the court (with the affidavits etc)? I think the court documents are very useful to sort out the truth from the claims that were made outside of court,
Thanks
Rachel- I haven’t been able to find links to any of them on the internet. The Charlotte Observer made the NASCAR filings available, but have not done the same with the Mayfield filings. If I come across them, or if you come across them I would be happy to link to them.
