The NASCAR Week That Was: May 31-June 6

Another busy news week, a lot of the same stories. On Tuesday the National Stock Car Racing Commission upheld penalties against Carl Long. Long failed an  engine inspection at Charlotte two weeks ago. In other news NASCAR this week moved a lawsuit filed by Jeremy Mayfield to federal court. The sanctioning body also filed a countersuit against Mayfield alleging willful violation of the substance abuse policy, breach of contract, and defrauding NASCAR and its competitors. And finally NASCAR instituted double-file restarts as it attempts to increase competition in the sport. This is the NASCAR week that was May 31 to June 6, 2009.
