The NASCAR Week That Was: May 24-30

Familiar storylines led the news this week. Jeremy Mayfield filed suit against NASCAR in Mecklenburg County Court on Friday. Mayfield is seeking reinstatement after he failed a random drug test given by the sanctioning body at Richmond. Dale Earnhardt Jr. also made news this week after Hendrick Motorsports replaced his crew chief and cousin, Tony Eury Jr. Lance McGrew will become Jr.’s interim crew chief. Finally, NASCAR met this week with drivers and team owners to discuss, among other things, ways to improve the sport. This is the NASCAR week that was May 24 to 30, 2009.

No, it wasn’t just Digger, it was a combination of that and those morons Jeff Hammond, Darrell Waltrip and Larry McReynolds, along with that doofus Chris (he only kids because he cares) Meyers. Seriously, they just continue to prove the stereotype that everyone involved or watches Nascar is a redneck.
