Crew chief swaps (or the rumor of them) led the news this week. Richard Childress Racing swapped crews and crew chiefs from the No. 07 and No. 29 in an attempt to improve performance. Hendrick Motorsports was also rumored this week to be contemplating a shift; Hendrick officials denied such a plan was in place. In other news, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Casey Mears were put on probation for six races following contact after the race in Phoenix last weekend. And finally, are you ready for silly season to begin? Martin Truex Jr. looks to be the hottest free agent this season and whether he stays or goes is quickly becoming the story du jour. This is the NASCAR week that was April 19-25, 2009.
