Savannah: I think you could certainly make an argument for Tony Jr. being part of the problem. I know there has been a ton of talk about getting rid of him, but being Dale Jr.’s crew chief is a tough gig. Whoever is in that position will always be second guessed. And something else to keep in mind, Dale Jr. brought Tony with him to Hendrick. It’s not like the two were paired by Mr. H. He was hand picked, and Dale Jr. needs to make it work if this is his guy.

One of the drivers that you mention as possibly being over rated is Dale Jr. Now, from an insider perspective, do you think that some of his performance problems can be blamed on his crew chief, Tony Eury Jr? This seems to be a hot topic among the members of the Jr Nation. Just wanted to know your thoughts.

Any chance the stud-length rule change had anything to do with Vicker’s wheel falling off at one of the races last year? Whole wheel crossed pit road and hit a camper.
