With Daytona less then a month out, there continues to be no shortage of news and announcements. After it appeared Bobby Labonte was headed to EGR and the #8 car early in the week, we eventually found out Labonte would drive the #96 car for Hall of Fame. Along with that, HOF will partner with Yates Racing and run Fords. Yates meanwhile, hasn’t been able to secure sponsorship for David Gilliland and it appears he may be the odd man out. After struggling to find sponsorship early on for his Nationwide Series teams, Dale Jr. has picked up another for 2009. Fastenal has signed on to sponsor his #5 entry for 14 races in 2009. And finally, there could be more changes coming to the Truck Series as NASCAR met with owners this week to discuss cost cutting measures. They discussed a spec engine and more changes to the pit stop rules. This is the NASCAR week that was January 11, 2009 to January 17, 2009.
