The NASCAR Week That Was: Oct. 26- Nov. 1

This week, Larry McClure, co-owner of Morgan McClure Motorsports, was indicted on federal tax law violations. McClure pleaded not guilty to the charges. He joins IRL driver Helio Castroneves and fellow NASCAR team owner Gene Haas (Haas is currently serving a 24 month prison sentence) as motorsports regulars charged with tax law infractions. If you needed another sign the economy is hitting the sport, layoffs hit JR Motorsports as they prepare to scale back to one team next season. And finally, rumors continue to swirl around Gillett Evernham Motorsports as they look to possibly expand to four cars next season. This is the NASCAR week that was, October 26 to November 1, 2008.
