The NASCAR Week That Was: September 21-27

Another week down, and more dominoes fall. AJ Allmendinger led the rumor mill this week after suggesting he may be out of the #84 Red Bull Toyota as early as next week. Many are expecting his empty seat to be filled by Mike Skinner and Scott Speed for the remainder of the season. In other news, the Truck Series may have found itself a new series sponsor. Camping World is reportedly in negotiations to fill the void being left by Craftsman. And finally, NASCAR stripped Juan Pablo Montoya of a pole on Friday after a violation in post-qualifying inspections. A rear shock absorber on the #42 Dodge exceeded the nitrogen gas pressure level allowed by NASCAR. Montoya was sent to the back of the field and now starts Sunday’s event from the 42nd position. This is the NASCAR week that was, September 21 to the 27, 2008.
