The NASCAR Week That Was: August 2-9

Road course racing is back again as the NASCAR Sprint Cup series and Nationwide Series travels to Watkins Glen International. From rain tires, to the re-emergence of the lawsuit facing NASCAR, this week produced interesting storylines. Hall of Fame Racing, which started just a couple of seasons ago with such promise is grasping to stay afloat, booting JJ Yeley from the ride and putting young Brad Coleman behind the wheel. Martin Truex re-signed with DEI putting an end to weeks of speculation about his future, but new questions have arisen about plans of some of his counterparts. And finally the sale of Kentucky Speedway looked to be in jeopardy as SMI reevaluated the purchase. This is the NASCAR week that was, August 2nd to the 9th, 2008.
