So You Want to Work in NASCAR? Part Four

So we come to the end of the “So You Want to Work in NASCAR?” series. Throughout the last several posts I have discussed some of the ways for you to obtain (and not obtain) that coveted position in NASCAR. While these are certainly not the be all end all of ways to get a job [...]

Austin Dillon to the Truck Series?

Austin Dillon, the 18 year old grandson of Cup Series team owner Richard Childress and son of former Busch Series driver Mike Dillon, might be headed for the Truck Series.  I’m hearing that he may run as many as three races this season in the NCTS to further his development.  The races will be run [...]

The Insiders Face Off: Driver/Media Interaction

Its a momentous day here at The Nascar Insiders.  This is our 100th post!!  We’ve only been around for four months, and boy has it been a crazy ride so far.  We went from obscurity to the forefront in one day thanks to our man Jayski (he even crashed our site), and we are just getting [...]

The Truth about the Ganassi Shut Down

In the days since the shut down of the #40 Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates team a lot has been written about the cause, and the potential for the future. The message board rumors have ranged from Ganassi closing at the end of the season to Target turning the team’s facility into a warehouse. Even journalists have [...]

I do not know if you have noticed, but a common theme has begun to emerge in these posts. Contacts and relationships are vital to success within the sport. I know, I know, that is true other places too, but in NASCAR without that contact it is very difficult to even get your foot in the [...]

Dominos Starting to Fall: Mark Martin to Hendrick

We’ve been hearing rumblings about this for a few days, and its being reported today by the AP and ESPN that Hendrick Motorsports will announce on Friday at Daytona that Mark Martin will replace Casey Mears in the #5 for next season.  Martin has been splitting time this season with Aric Almirola in DEI’s #8 [...]

Breaking News: Ganassi shuts down #40 car, lays off 71 employees

As was reported earlier today by Jayski, Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates has officially shut down the #40 Cup team for the season and has laid off 71 employees.  A lack of sponsorship is ultimately to blame for the team’s demise.  From what I’m hearing, the layoffs include the entire #40 team, and effect every [...]
