I graduated from Nascar Technical Institute in August of 2007. The only students that actually get any help getting on a team through the school had to have at least a 3.7 gpa, which is usually the top 10 percent. At the time that I graduated they were only averaging 12 percent of those students actually getting jobs in some form of racing, and I mean SOME form. Most I knew went to a steel company that manufactured the tubing used to make the chassis. Some got lucky and got into engine teardowns. And the ones who got on teams had a few things in common:

1. they came from a racing background
2. they knew people

My class started with 300 students of which 70 percent wanted to get into racing. When I graduated, forty other people graduated with me. Now some others were doing longer courses. But if its what you wanna do go for it, the one thing I learned, you have to wanna get into racing because you love racing, not because you want to make alot of money.
