In the past couple of weeks we were able to break, before anybody, several news stories including, Brian Pattie’s new position as crew chief on the #42, Scott Lagasse’s departure from JTG, problems with Erik Darnell over at Roush and potential financial issues at Michael Waltrip Racing. We are constantly working to provide you, our readers, with the latest, most credible news as quickly as we can. Sometimes we’ll beat Jayski and others, sometimes we won’t, but we will have a credible lead every time.
I recently read a rumor about Dale Jr. leaving Hendrick for Childress at the end of the season. It was obviously unsubstantiated and likely mostly made up. We want you to know that we will never do this. As insiders in the industry we are privy to information that most others are not. We are never going to post anything that we don’t have very credible information about or that we simply heard through the grapevine.
Both TC and I hear a lot of rumors on a daily basis, it’s what the sport is about, but we won’t post anything unless we have a very good source for it. We are committed to providing you with the best information we have, and if it stinks, or the lead is a bad one, we are not going to be passing it off. Credibility is something we are constantly trying to build and we would never do anything to jeopardize that.
Before I go I want to thank all of the readers who have helped us grow over the last two months. Remember if you ever have any questions, comments or concerns don’t hesitate to email either TC or myself or post in the comment section at the bottom of every post. Thanks again!

FYI - The story about Dale Jr. / Hendrick Motorsports was something conjured up at RevJim’s Rants ‘n’ Raves as somewhat of a potshot to all of the crazy & far-fetched rumors that continue to circulate and make headlines. Not sure if anyone else followed suit, but I - seeing the humor in his efforts - decided to pass it along as well.
I don’t think anyone was really trying to pass it off as gospel, though.

Here’s my problem with your credibility…. anonymity
I’ve always had a problem with radio and TV people who use “air names” rather than their real names. The same applies to this site.
Refusing to disclose identity demonstrates a lack of courage and is a serious detriment to credibility.

Tim: We realize that the rumor from Rev Jim didn’t carry alot of weight, we were just using it as an example. We didn’t mean it as a knock on his site or anything.
Tony: I understand the issues surrounding our credibility by us remaining anonymous. If I was in your shoes, I would probably feel the same way. But I believe the quality of the content will be better this way, as we are more free to explore topics and divulge information. I’m not afraid by any stretch of having people know who I am, but by remaining anonymous, especially within the industry, people will not be afraid to “share” information about what is going on. Just like with anything else, everyone in racing talks. We all hear things, and we all pass them along. This freedom allows me, in turn, to pass them along to you. Our hope through all of this is to build credibility as we go with our posts and information. I hope you keep coming back and allow us to maybe change your mind!

Sorry, I didn’t mean to pass that off as me being upset with your post or anything. I was just simply filling in the blanks is all. Trust me, if I took any issue with this site, I wouldn’t be here! lol
